Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (SEAH) in development cooperation and humanitarian assistance
Welcome to this introductory course on sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH).
This course is a stand-alone course. It can also be taken as a module in Sida’s E-learning on Gender equality (which you start by taking the introductory quiz).
Target group
The course has been developed for employees at Sida, the Ministry for foreign affairs, Swedish Embassies, Swedish experts- and secondment programmes, and participants attending other trainings sessions.
SEAH is deeply rooted in structures of gender inequality and gender-based violence and discrimination. Sweden has made international commitments to end SEAH, and has zero-tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment in our development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
Learning objectives
After active participation in the course, you will be able to:
- Understand what SEAH is and its key concepts
- Be familiar with how to prevent and respond to SEAH
- Be familiar with how to assess a partner organisation’s capacity to prevent and respond to SEAH
- Understand Swedish commitments and the international framework regarding SEAH
Description
In the course you will learn more of what SEAH is and what you can do, Sweden’s commitments and the international framework. You will also encounter a case of SEAH yourself, asking you to apply what you have learnt, and learn more as you go along.
The course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and ends with a short knowledge test. The certificates mentioned in the course are only available to employees of Sida and the Government Offices.
